Excellent remake. Slower, longer scenes - it allowed the plot marinate and thicken in our eyes for the audience. The score is wonderful placed all over the movie in a way that it is intentional and balanced.
An emotional movie characterized by witty British dialogues all over, redefining what it means for a movie to be thrilling, funny, emotional and sad - all at once. It's a buffet of emotions and you find yourself sometimes making decisions as the protagonist.
As a supporter of the first movie with Anne Hathaway, I'm happy this was done. Movies adopted from books may need to be longer so the audience does not loose the plot. Dex and Em have incredible performances by the actors - one scene when Dex is unable to speak in Paris out of emotions, you can feel the pain and sadness in his voice.
It is a beautiful portrayal, well delivered, well-paced. Warning - this is not a romcom.
