I would have been more disappointed if I’d paid full price to see it. I thought JP would deliver an academy performance. But perhaps he was staying true to the character. If so, NB was kind of a boring guy. I know he was passionate about J, but the direction in this area was anticlimactic and overly poor. The entire film felt like it was missing more than a little. Very airy with not much substance. Historically inaccurate. Shot with heavy blue filters. Is RS headed down. Could have been way, way better. But I will say, his white horse getting hit with a cannon ball was cool.

If you like QT films, you’ll really like this one. It’s more mature than previous outings. BP’s character is played perfectly and leaves you wanting more every time a scene ends. Leo’s character is far more complex and, knowing their backstories are is not as important as other films. Who they portray comes across as it should. I’d see it again for the fun of it -and that’s what QT films are about: fun...
