The most incredible film you probably haven't bothered to see... "Yesterday", well actually last night, we went to see this film which quite honestly I'd literally ignored time and again, based on having no clue who the lead actor was in only looking at the film's poster on my Regal app.
But I gotta tell you, if you don't go see this film, you'll have truly missed out!
If you've ever gone on a date, and looked at the other person and thought... meh... but, then somehow they began to win you over, and before you knew it, they're pretty darn cute and you find you might even be falling in love, and just like that, wham! This person suddenly becomes the most adorable person to have ever walked the earth and your smitten! And THAT is what
Himesh Patel does to the audience!!
This film is, in my opinion, the sleeper hit of the year, and if it doesn't get Oscar buzz, something's very, very wrong!
First, it's FULL of The Beatles music, which if the title didnt give that away, I'm sorry, as that might indicate you've likely missed out on the most amazing music our world has ever known, in which case, please start with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely hearts club band, album or Abbey Road album, and get to listening (you're welcome).
Second- what a surprisingly delightful story line.
And
Third- everyone from Patel's co-star, Lily James, to Ed Sheeran, to Kate McKinnon (SNL GODDESS) and Joel Fry, is AMAZING. Yes even Ed Sheeran, who most might say, stick to singing kid, but OMG he was actually quite perfect! Yes, he played himself, but he proved he is a true actor and I believe we will see more of him in this regard.
Anyway, if you haven't seen YESTERDAY, GO TODAY!
It's a MUST!
*Disclaimer
I grew up on the Beatles, and they have truly been my life long number one of all time bands and I love just about all of their songs. Picking a favorite song, would be like picking a favorite child!... Which only depends on my mood 😂😉.
So, lucky for us, we had a TOTALLY empty theater at last nights 10:45 showing, because that meant, I could sing along! I had a HUGE smile on my face and left dancing, literally dancing, and Song bombed with "Hey Jude" ...so, "Don't bring me down" and go see it!... you'll thank me later if you don't "let it be"!
