The film takes place during the final days of a fictional civil war as a group of reporters make their way to the capitol. The story is often painfully slow with very little to drive the story forward. Forcing myself to keep watching I hoped that it was building to something... It wasn't. There were no twists, no surprises, nothing. When they finally arrived at the capitol and had the opportunity to question the president there was no great revelation, no indication of why the war had taken place, not even a burning question that needed to be answered.
Usually a film tries to leave you with something, a feeling, an emotion, a question or revelation. Something that makes you think the film has enriched you somehow. But not this film. The film finished all I felt was "what a waste of my time". The acting was good, but even that could make up for the gaping plot and story line. There were so many opportunities for character development which just didn't happen. Very disappointed.
