Absolutely a masterpiece of a movie; perhaps the only horror movie that has genuinely left a deep impression upon me. Stanley Kubrick excels at bringing the book to life, and Jack Nicholson could not be a better fit for Jack Torrance. The most interesting thing about this movie, is that the protagonist in the beginning, is the antagonist in the end.
