Mediocre. This movie just rehashes cannibal movie tropes. Better watch Cannibal Holocaust or Cannibal Redux for a compelling story line or gore factor.

This is a true gem despite allegations of cruelty to animals and an objectionable act of molestation because it asks the biggest question of all: who is the real cannibal-- the White man or the so-called cannibal?

A disturbing movie, but not a disgusting one. Unlike the other slasher flicks with gore for gore's sake, this one leans to the philosophical side a bit and provides a satisfactory storyline from which the violent scenes however do not stick out like a sore thumb.

One of the best slasher/psychopathic killer movies you can come across in a lifetime. This film is so well made that it keeps you riveted to the screen till the very end. Don't heed the negative reviews. Just go ahead and watch it if you need a nice bit of shock to pump up your heart beat.

A flimsy plot line that does not do justice to the scenes of extreme gore and a bunch of characters with a dead pan acting style condemn this movie to the pit of the lowliest rating system imaginable. A pathetic excuse for sadism and misogyny masquerading as a movie.

Visceral in every sense of the term, Ichi the Killer is not your usual gang-war movie with blood and guts thrown in just for the kicks. The movie does not shy away from over-the-top violence and portrays torture scenes with epic tranquility. But what salvages the movie at the end of the day is the characterization and the way in which graphic scenes are made to meld with the rest of the plot. Only a director like Takashi Miike could have pulled this off!
