The best disaster movie I've ever seen in terms of pacing, tone, excitement, people scrambling for their lives and the ending!
I personally didn't care for the 15 minute love story at the beginning (I don't care for such things) but my friend liked that part very much so this is definitely a five star film. The camera work and use of depth of field makes this movie stand out. We (the movie night crew) couldn't think of another disaster movie that was this consistently exciting except maybe Dante's Peak. It feels so real, growing up under the threat of nuclear war this film must have been terrifying. Hell, I was in Hawaii when the text message got sent out that a missile was incoming to my neighborhood (2018 missile crises) and this film definitely had me flashing back to when I was in my stairwell with my head between my knees waiting to die from the blast.
