Less charming than the previous entry, and way too full of new characters and plots. Characters don't have arcs so much as puppet strings, and seem to act in nonsensical and unpredictable ways. The editing is solid at its best, but occasional mistakes, such as bad scene geography or weird cuts, make it hard to follow the action at times. Additionally, the audio was at times very muffled, making bad elocution from some actors much worse. I found myself struggling to understand many lines despite being a native English speaker.
The VFX are stunning, and the actors do what the can with what they have, but this feels like a big fat missed opportunity. With a little more care, and a heavier hand in the cutting and writer's rooms, this could have been brilliant.
