Okay so I decided to watch this film late one night because I was in need of a distraction. I went into it completely unaware of the story line, I assumed it would have the usual Y/A romance trope and c'est la vie, it would serve its purpose. HOWEVER, little did I know I would cry not once, not twice, but three times. Honestly, I didn't read the novel and I've been scanning some other reviews discussing how vastly different the movie is, but I don't care. The film was beautiful, the casting was amazing in my opinion (now of course I don't have the novel characters to compare Elle and Justice to), I can honestly say though that Elle and Justice just bled straight emotion. The way Justice played through his manic episodes was brilliant and Elle's entire performance was SPECTACULAR! Not to mention that the score was gorgeous, making the whole film feel like a dream. To say the least, when I began watching this I expected something no better than "The Kissing Booth" and instead I got a god-tier film. Definitely one of my new favs, and will watch again when I am in the need for a good cry.
