If you know nothing of history you might enjoy this film. How is it possible to take such a tumultuous and epic story and make it tedious. There is so much potential in the true story of his reign. He was destined to fail, but by all accounts, was a glorious failure. This film… such a waste.

I spent most of the film wondering why I should care. No emotional connection at all. Then there was the plot holes. An AI machine that can access any machine from anywhere at any time- but it has to be on the ship to take it over. This along with many other plot holes made this a tough watch. Impressive CGI does not make up for poor writing.

A boring wasted opportunity. Could have been so much more. Great battles scenes some of the best so far about Gallipoli. Whoever decided to tack on a confusing love triangle with as an idiot. ‘Tolly’ character just doesn’t sell his performance. It looks like he spent 8 months on Gallipoli ready to burst into tears. How hard do you have to work to make Gallipoli boring? So much wasted potential.
