Had a hard time with accepting the idea of such an alternate reality. But the book frustrated me! Bears no resemblance to the show! The show was well done, acted, etc. Filled a few hours in the evenings.

I have bought 2 copies of this book. Read it, passed it on, and now am trying to get another one! It is that good. I will keep it this time!
There may have been some justification for a cleansing the church, but Henry VIII's greed saw an opportunity to strip the monasteries of property and wealth. He won. They lost, in many cases everything, becoming a new group within the unemployed masses.
Read this book 3x, and still don't understand the tearing down of these churches, abbeys, monasteries. Seeing the surviving ruins is a very sad sight.

I am in Season 2, and really enjoying the shows. It's a combination of "Homeland" and "West Wing", and well written. Highly recommended.
