What in the world was this movie? Like seriously what happened here? It’s not just bad, it’s incomprehensible. It jumps from one set piece to the next and expects emotional responses. What mostly sucks about this film is it’s potential. It begins strongly and obviously has a talented cast and a good budget. I was excited to see the inventor’s inventions, but then it just followed familiar tropes. The set is beautiful and the songs are awesome but the script destroys the whole world experience. It just jumps from scene to scene, one moment a snowball fight the next an action scene. It squanders the budget and its actors. It’s a hodgepodge of Mr Magoriams Wonder Emporium and The Greatest Showman, however it loses the charm of both films and replaces it with major tonal and logical problems. The pacing is terrible making the 2 hours feel like a lifetime. However if you’re being put to death in 2 hours and want them to last forever, I recommend this movie.
