You know who's leaving bad reviews? People who haven't played this game. *Spoiler free review*
The Last of Us is my favorite game, so when I heard there would be a sequel I was super excited! I watched all the trailers multiple times, waiting these last couple years for it to come out. I made sure to avoid the spoilers though! When it finally was released I was ready! I had it preordered and even took a 3 day weekend to play. I have you say this was a very thoughtful and beautifully made game. The game opens up with gorgeous scenery, giving a glimpse of the stunning graphics you'll experience through the entire game. The introduction also included multiple new characters... and they really did a fantastic job with character development. Everyone had their own complex personalities and witty banter. It even went it to depth on the villains characters. Instead of just making them evil, it showed them as humans. Not only were the main characters great, the AI were more complex. Instead of just catching on to a pattern and going around them, you have to really use stealth. They actively hunt you down. Any noise attracts them, and your scent can lead their dogs to you. This game introduced some really neat new moves as far as combat goes. I personally loved going prone and taking people out with my bow. I also enjoyed the insane melee attacks. While all these things were great, I think the thing I appreciated most in the game was seeing everyone's perspectives. It made you realize that someone's hero, can be another person's villain.
