Like "The House the George Built". I thoroughly enjoyed "Listening for America". I am still trying to find the website where i can hear the musical notations. The insights and detailed descriptions of each song brought me an even deeper love the the music I love the most. at age 80 I am not a fan of rap or hip hop, and have been lucky enough to have actually seen many of the musicals from the Golden Age, including Gypsy, Funny Girl and many other not discussed in the book.
