1917, directed and co-written by Sam Mendes, the film is well acted by stars George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman, beautifully long take shot by cinematographer Roger Deakins. It's a harrowing story of heroism and survival in the genre of war films. Two men have to trek across a dangerous German army occupied terrain in order to save the lives of 1,600 soldiers from the other side.
