I'll start off by saying that overall it's an ok movie. Not worth watching in the theater though. But watching at home in your big screen tv would be just fine.
The movie was too stretched out. It seemed like the director tried too hard to make it dark and suspenseful.
There were too many rainy scenes that cause too much noise during action action scenes. From what I got is that the rain and clouds throughout are representitave of a city that is in desperate need of hope and change. But it was exaggeratingly too much which makes it difficult to watch the film comfortable visually.
Honestly I gotta say Robert Pattinson and the Kravitz girl, forgot her first name, made for a good batman and Catwoman. But the story line between them both was lame. The tension between the both is random, quick, and without reason.
The Batman suit is never brought up. You never find out the purpose of the suit. Batman gets shot by shotguns and sniper rifles. It leaves you wondering who came up with the suit, Bruce or Alfred or maybe was it just left there by the dad Thomas. You never get an idea of if Bruce is as smart as he's supposed to be. This Batman version is supposed to be a darker version but you should still be able to get an idea of Bruce's genius, but you never do in this movie.
If you have ever talked to some that talks slow like a sloth then you'll feel the same way watching this movie. The movie drags because there's a lot of scenes where they just seem to stare at each other. It felt like the purpose of this was to make it as dramatic as possible but it was too try hard. A few sentences are exchanged then there's staring and then a few more sentences are exchanged followed by more starring. Though I will say in some scenes it doesn't make sense because they are trying to figure out puzzles and riddles which would cause you to stop and think, but still, it was too much thinking and the director should've made those scenes more concise.
My main reason for not liking the movie was that Batman seemed liked a guy that could take any hit and survive but then you look at the suit and it looked like Bruce put something together last minute where you'd be able to stab Batman with a pencil and kill him. Bruce never got a bloody nose or bruise in his body. He never goes back home feeling like he just got punched. He just goes back home being more of a mopping grown teenager. There's was nothing shown about the background of the suit. There are times were the suit looks he's just wearing sweatpants and he's getting jumped by lots of guys and nothing..... nothing happens to Batman.
I could on and on but the truth is that this had so much potential and failed to meet that potential.
