I normally love King books, but this one is tough to keep picking up, mainly because I'm 200 pages in and it's still setting things up. Dozens if characters, all with pages of backstory, and very little has happened so far.
I feel like by the end, the book could have been a great 250 page novel that is being unnecessarily stretched just for the sake of longevity.
Other books of his, like Lisey's Story, The Institute, 11/22/63, and Green Mile were long but gripped you and had very few wasted pages. This one feels like it's mostly filler, and it's hard to keep trudging through to see if anything in the main plot will finally move forward
