I don't know what the matter is with people and this movie. It's not more shocking than the average 2022 movie that touches on complex subjects and it's not disrespectful toward the character as it is a fictional one (even if it's largely based on a real character) - it's like a "take" of MM from the author of the book. Very good movie, in some scenes it's like she's really back for a second. Most photographed moments of her that are public now are recreated to the T. The imagery is beautiful and the actress really did an amazing job. There are some "arty" parts here and there, but nothing that takes away the realness of other parts of the film. I almost didn't watch the movie because of the reviews and I am happy I didn't listen.

It's an good introduction to the case, but that's about it. I thought the series would have more episode so it was ok until I realised that it all ended after the second episode. In my opinion, it really brought nothing new to the table. There was too much video archive with his face on it (interviews are fine, but simple footages where you just see his horrendous face and fashion was a bit much). We really needed quality interview with victims and institution workers as much as their stories about how they were able to live with such trauma while an entire country glorified him during years. This was too focused on his "glory" and not enough on what he did and on how he actually did it. It's a good start, but with the quality docu-series we have nowadays this could have been way better as a 2022 documentary.

This movie is amazing. I had no idea what I was getting into. Just knew there was Emma Stone (and she doesn't usually disappoint). The scenery, the music, the fashion, the acting, the story: everything is on point. It's one of those movies you really don't imagine delivering (because of the Disney connotation) and hope to get 1-2 good laughs out of it, but you end up actually really loving it. Great job. Best 2021 movie so far.
