I saw this first back in 2011 when it was released because it was a potential Oscar nominee. Didn't have a hint how US elections are ran but this gave me an idea. I watched it with my wife again in 2020 as a reminder how dirty politics can really be and that vested interests run this world even with a pandemic going on.
