Having visited Rwanda in 2017 and personally experiencing some of the spoken and unspoken fault lines in Rwandan society so adeptly conveyed in “Black Earth Rising”, the excellently directed and acted series was particularly affecting. It is beautifully filmed, beautifully acted while telling a complex story reflecting the difficulties of clarity about good and evil.
