very disappointed by Michael Rowland this morning regarding comments he made about the horrific violent murder of the Brisbane mother and her 3 children by the estranged father/ex-husband.
I am aware that not many details were available at the time however there was mention of violence against women & children
Paraphrasing, Michael said what can we do / we are at a bit of a loss - AS JOURNALISTS you all have a responsibility to report violence against women & children accurately, not "humanise" the perpetrators as some broadcasts do, showing the perpetrator playing with his children implying a loving/gentle man - question this scenario, it is repeated again & again; emphasise the lack of government action / defunding of services just for a start
