I wasn't expecting much from this film and decided to go with my 7 & 10 year old daughters. I found the set up to the film quite slow for a family film and it wasn't until half way through I started to realise how amazingly beautiful Onward is.
I didn't laugh at the film, but it was engrossing and very, very emotional.
Having recently lost my dad to cancer, I was sobbing away for the last 30 minutes of the film. I'm not going to give anything away, it's not fair.
But if you find it slow and wanting to look at your watch for the first 45mins, just hang in there!
Everyone's lost someone in life, this movie is so good at making you realise what you've got around you, remember the good times with those you've lost as that's what they'd want you to do. Family is so important, it's easy to forget that.
I needed lots of hugs from my daughter's after the film, they really enjoyed the film...Clever Pixar...I enjoyed it too but for different reasons...For the emotional rollercoaster it took me on.
I watched it in 2D but I recommend watching it in 3D to hide the tears!!
