It's a five star game that gets three stars because the VC system this year feels almost like extortion. The graphics are better than ever. The City on the Next Gen systems is almost RPG like in it's detail and content. The in-game simulation is more advanced (no more simply racing into the post for easy buckets) than any basketball video game before. It's definitely worth the purchase. The only draw back is the difficulty presented by MyCareer when developing your player. It feels like you have to reopen the wallet to meaningfully increase your attributes. I refuse to buy "in game content" for these sports games. Dropping $70 on the game is expensive enough, I REFUSE to pay more in-game. It leaves you in a huge hole to dig out of right away. I always loved grinding for advancement, but NBA2K22 SERIOUSLY tests your patience. At the rate I'm going, my player might be a 75 overall midway through my 3rd season. While I appreciate not grinding a 99 player in season 2 as in past 2K additions, this is too much. And good luck earning VC in The City. You end up playing 15 year old kids who have unlimited access to mom's credit cards and have already Maxed Out players. Your 65 Overall player ends up getting killed by 94 Overall players. I know The Money Grab is here to stay in video games, but it shouldn't feel like you HAVE to spend $50 on top of the $70 you already paid just to be competitive. It matters.

I'm a fan of "Star Wars", not a fanatic, but I enjoy theme of the films. It has flaws, but it's a fantastic game, best EA "Star Wars" game. Anyway, I used my Stimulus on all my bills and the little money I had left bought Devil May Care 5 for $20, Star Wars Dark Order and Wteckfest. Grading on a Triple Play Curve, I think I did pretty damngood.
