I’ll never be able to put in words what this movie was about as well as some of these other positive reviews but I felt the need to say something. First, I feel like this movie needs to be watched more than once to catch everything that is said and done. Its not a action movie or a got you movie its a movie that allows you into the mind of a isolated , lonely, inquisitive man as he goes about his daily routine continuously for his months away in space. The movie makes you feel everything that the spaceman is feeling and gave me a new appreciation for those astronauts that really live this kind of life. I love how Sandler has went from some of the most entertaining, yet dumbest movies to serious movies like Reign over me and this Spaceman movie. Its a very artistic movie yet I could feel Sandlers dry humor coming through as he had his conversations with earth, himself and his guest. The writing, scenery, music , lighting really gave me the sense of isolation, loneliness and despair that Sandler’s character was feeling as he traveled to the beginning of everything.

I wanted to like the character but couldn’t get past how stupid she was in thinking she could just go into the mountains and without any experience, take care of herself. She didn’t appear to be stupid but who else would buy a remote cabin thats miles off the grid, dispose of her phone and vehicle and believe that she’s going to be ok? The scenery was 👍👍.

B for location, A for beautiful Actress, C+ for acting, F for script. The movie starts out interesting but quickly becomes almost unbearable to watch. The writers couldn’t be bothered to write a believable script. Would it of killed them to write a believable survival script? Maybe they didn’t know any better but they should have done some quick research. She would have possibly died the second day from hypothermia by staying in wet clothes overnight. If she didn’t die the first night, hypothermia would have surly got her one of the other times she got wet. Who gets fully dressed and puts on boots to swim to the middle of a lake and then swim 25-30 feet down? How was she planning on using the planes radio without electric? Her best chance on getting rescued was someone spotting her fly or smoke from a plane but she never puts anything bigger than kindling on the fire. What would cause a fish to bite on a simple copper colored wire, sitting on the bottom of the lake with no bate on it? If you store rain water in OxyContin bottles without washing them out what’s your chance of overdosing by your second or third bottle? I could go on but you get the idea.

It’s great to watch a movie that stands up to time and loaded with so many leading men. Each actor displays why they went on to have long successful careers.
