Butterflies in the System is a story, based on real experiences, about the journey of a teenager through the youth protection system in the province of Quebec. As she weaves in and out of the system, Sam encounters many obstacles and threats from within and without. Her success or failure is dependent on her own resilience and ingenuity, the friendships she develops, and the natures of the judges, institutional staff, and social workers that she encounters. This is an excellent heartwarming story of love and perseverance as Sam, with the help of others, learns to overcome her demons and believe in herself.
