So disappointing. This game is beautifully designed and the story is great and I tried so hard to convince myself it's good... but it's not. Despite the awesome job they did with the world building... the game play is painfully wrong. It's missing so .any if the things that made diablo 2 so good. The biggest of these issues is level scaling the monsters. It doesn't matter how much you level and progress... when you go back to beginning areas, the enemies that you fought in the first few minutes of the game are still just as tough. And you also can't push into higher level content to try to challenge your build and skills, because it's just leveled to your level anyway.
Items are not satisfying. Inventory looks like a mobile game. Quests feel not impactful, rather they feel like chores (Diablo 2 almost every single quest seemed to have a feeling of weight and importance), rewards are lame, the ability to change the appearance of equipment on a whim wrecks the purpose in each item having its own appearance in the first place. Removing unidentified items takes away a large part of the excitement and fun of finding rare drops, potions just being a charge bar instead of a belt which you actually buy potions for just feels lame... I could keep going, but the point is, this game is massively disappointing.
