As someone who recently watched "Ponniyin Selvan Part 2", I can say that I had mixed feelings about the film. While I appreciated the source material, which is Kalki's famous novel "Ponniyin Selvan", and the stunning cinematography, there were several aspects of the movie that left me feeling disappointed.
For one thing, the film differed significantly from the book, which was a letdown for me as a viewer. In particular, I felt that the war in the climax of the movie felt unnecessary, and it seemed to deviate from the original text in terms of plot and character development. Additionally, I was disappointed that the storyline involving Sendhan Amudhan revealing himself as the real Madhuranthakan was dropped from the movie.
Overall, while there were certainly some enjoyable elements to "Ponniyin Selvan Part 2", I found it difficult to fully engage with the characters and their journeys due to the film's deviations from the book. As such, I would recommend this movie with some reservations, especially for fans of the original story who may be disappointed by the changes made in the adaptation.
