The casting is superb; however, there is no development of the characters and between the characters (Lizzy and Darcy) to warrant how deeply he falls into love with. It was so lacking and the actors so inspiring that it prompted me to actually read the book. The book on the contrary does a great job depicting the several interactions between Lizzy and Darcy, and while no movie can do justice to a literary great for fear of being 4 hours long, they certainly could have done some time lapse scenes of their many meetings at Rosigs or their run-is while out walking. Something to convince the viewer that Darcy had enough experience with Lizzy to justify his “ardent” love.
