Amazing read. Two young people become refugees after their home country is at war. Beautiful writing, strong character development, atmospheric immersion into a world turned upside down.

I'm almost done with this series which I'm watching on MHZ. It's terrific. The characters are compelling and appealing and the Milano setting is interesting, both after WW II and ten years later. There is drama, romance, humor and compassion, a wonderful ensemble brings great story telling (based on a real character) to life.
