I honestly found it boring after a couple of episodes. Though the actors are good they can only do so much with the script they are dealt with. The story line is lack lustre, for instance they have one half of an episode that has a zombie chasing a character through houses, and a store, and a school and a fire engine garage and more houses, he even falls asleep midway on the roof of a bus, with the zombie patiently grunting all around it. The story fails to move anywhere towards a rising action or derive a climax. It's just people dying and turning into zombies and chasing other people through vacant streets and buildings. I believe this was a project put together in haste. For instance there is a character who speaks in Korean through out the episodes, nonetheless, every person she meets seem to magically decipher what she is saying, even have full length conversations.
Also, a particular fire arm only has 9 bullets, but clearly no one is keeping count and these are the small overlooked details that most audience would find lame.
I found Black Summer drags too much, with no purpose, repetitive sequences and focuses on no real drama that such circumstances would usher.
It does have the potential to become something so much better
