Would be a great plot had they NOT used the Winx brand. Having been a Winx fan since early childhood, I feel they set myself and others up with high expectations for this show just to be let down massively because it’s nothing like the original. Not to mention the bad fashion and script- it just feels like a 40 year old man decided to write a show on what he pictured teens to be like but then gets a costume designer to dress them like the real housewives of Surrey which makes things feel a little misplaced. Also not forgetting that the characters aren’t getting fairy costumes after transitioning. However I have given this a four star rating because I for one have faith that things will improve for the upcoming seasons but also that the actual storyline itself with the burned ones and shady teachers is pretty cool. It’ll be amazing to see what the magic is like when the girls get more powerful and also if we’ll get to see the rest of the (formerly known) “Magix”. I love the cast and community formed by this show so hopefully season two will give us the redemption we need.
