She has done it again. Made me fall in love with all of her characters and drew me in even more than the last time, with "The Gift" Her writing is in the details. The little things that bring the characters in this book alive and together really makes you feel like you know them individually like they are real people. I really felt like I knew them. I found that I was laughing out loud, gasping, and even crying throughout this book. If a book can make you feel so much emotion, you know you are in for a great ride. So strap into a comfortable position, where your most comfortable clothing, grab a cup of tea and settle in because until you finish the book you will not be going anywhere. Grace McKenna is by far my favorite detective. I love how her gift give her the ability to help people that otherwise would not have closure or answers. I love me some Barb though, she is hilarious, the stations admin. I think I would actually go back to a gym if we had an Imperial Fitness here in DC with an owner that is as kind, generous, and good looking as Mark.

The author of this book really knows how to draw you in from the beginning of this series of books starting with "The Gift" I really loved how she explained what this gift was without drawing out the characters story out too long. She dives right into her adult life as a detective which is where all the juicy stories lye. You really feel like you are walking beside Grace McKenna when she is solving her mysteries and her curiosity draws you in for more to the point where you just cannot put the book down. Every time I thought I would take a break between a chapter I immediately had to read the next one. I have read this book twice and the second time I read it it was even better and I read it in one day. I just could not get enough of her detective skills and all the relationships she develops along the way. This is definitely a great quick read. I highly recommend this to those that like a good mystery. Not just one mystery, but many to come with her two other books. The flow from The Gift to Buried Secrets is almost effortless. Her use of descriptive writing really makes you feel like you are in Bridgeton, MA yourself.
