This is cerebral material with just enough spectacle and a lot of psychological tug-of-war between good and evil. It's not The Exorcist, nor is it trying to be. It's just a dramatic take on a sub-genre of horror that needs to take itself serious but no so serious, and that's what Apparitions does. If you're a fan of this genre, definitely give it a try.
