I enjoyed the movie. The conflict between a deaf family who wanted their daughter to remain with them as their interpreter instead of leaving to attend music school is realistic and understandable. I loved the voice of the lead actress and was happy that the members of her immediate family were all deaf actors. I also think the love among all the family members was great. But this portrayed the deaf family members as unrealistically helpless. Using flashing lights instead of audible warnings on their boat when the Coast Guard approached; and voice to text technology could enable them to be more independent than what was portrayed.

This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The script and acting are bad! The entire movie was very amateurish. The idea for the movie was promising: two students —Molly and Amy — who are focused strictly on their studies discover that other classmates who spent more time partying got into the same prestigious schools. They are determined to spend their last night before graduation raucously partying, which they do more or less. When they graduate, Molly gives the Valedictorian speech recognizing the value of her classmates who weren’t as rigorous as she was. The problem is that the plot does not develop naturally. As they move from one party to another, their actions are bizarre and hard to follow. The coming of age sexual experience of Amy is disappointing; and Molly’s experience involves a single kiss. There is nothing wrong with the plot focusing on the friendship between two brilliant high school girls; but it doesn’t do justice to that friendship.
