So far this book is a meandering pedantic self indulgent mess of a book. Like James Joyce before him, Wallace sets himself as a scion of hyper intellectual demogoggery. It is written by somebody who does not wish to be understood, but by someone who enjoys the smell of his own excrement and sneers down at those he deems too inferior to bask in its odor as much as he does. The statement: "If you do not understand what I have written then you are an uneducated philestine," is laughably absurd. Wallace was a writer who fell head over heels in love with the majesty of his words; slurping down the poisoned Kool Aid of his own hype. No wonder he offed himself. His ego became too large for such a feeble corporeal form.

Just rewatched this movie. It is an abysmal travesty and a complete waste of Chow Yun Fat's talents. Only Hollywood could make a movie the dangers of racial hate and bolster the film with a flagrant display of White Savior Complex with the casting of bumbling buffoon Sean William Scott and a personality free blah vanilla actress in Jamie King: two actors whose physical appearances best represent the ideals of the Aryan Nation. Was this movie attempting to be ironic? I seriously doubt it. Hollywood executives are too blissfully obtuse, and self awareness is anathema to them as well. Avoid this film like the plague.

Anybody who thinks this movie is lame and boring must've strangled their inner child to the point they are jaded, nialistic and bereft of all joy. After experiencing Aquaman in IMAX I am still giddy with glee, my inner child screaming like a little girl days after. I still see the movie playing back in my head, so many high points of epic wonder and grandeur than I can number, or even share without spoiling it for those yet to experience it for themselves. Sure it's campy at times and cheesy and gleefully ludicrous, but that's Aquaman! It wears it's heart on it's sleeve. I just want to hug Jason Momoa for making all my childhood dreams come true. I've seen so many special effects laden spectacles that bleed together and feel like an empty slog, and afterwards I cannot recall a single moment that stays fresh in my mind, but not Aquaman! I recall every moment and am hard pressed to pin point which moment was my absolute favorite, because there are far too many to choose from . . . Maybe the entire third act. All I can say is WOW! I could not contain my excitement during that bonkers final battle!
