IT WAS TERRIBLE!!! The best thing about going to this movie--was seeing the previews beforehand. It was not even a little bit believable or scary! No heart, no creepy mood, no uplifting message--just one ridiculous scene after another! The whole storyline was very lame in the first place and the acting was really cheesy and BAD! (And no, the underlying message about the real fear being how none of us can escape growing older did NOT go over my head!) But come on, how is that most basic human fear new, unique, or movie-worthy? [Eye-roll]
Also, I hated all the close-up shots, and the way they distorted the camera so you couldn't really see what's going on. That's a classic, low-budget movie move! Obviously they didn't have enough money to spend on special effects. There were parts that I'm sure were meant to be scary, but I actually laughed out loud at them! They were just too stupid and silly to be scary! A total waste of my time--and a movie ticket. We expect much, much, more from M. Night Shyamalan! I think this writer/director/storyteller has finally run out of stories to tell. Don't go see this movie! --Unless you're in the mood for a stupid comedy!
