I am 67 and started reading Nancy Drew books since I was about 9, as did my friends. I was looking forward to the show and was shocked at the sex scene in the first 5 min. of the show. And as if that wasn't bad enough it happened again at the end, same cot, same garage.
NOTHING about this show is like the books or past show staring Pamela Sue Martin, who played the medium. I can't believe she would be part of such trash. In the books these girls were around 17, "best friends", Bess and George were best friends and none of them had records for shoplifting, etc., Nancy's mom died when she was 3 and had a great relationship with her Dad who was a distinguished lawyer (her dad in this new show didn't look distinguished even in his suit, and Nancy and the Police Chief got along great. Ned was not an ex-con. Also, if this show is about Nancy a few years older than the books and have them working, I'm sure it wouldn't be in a diner. Seriously, some things are better left unchanged. Trying to "modernize" this show is not what fans expected or want. Just another show to justify teens having sex and throwing it in their face so they can think it's ok. What's wrong with you people??? Which episode will you be throwing homosexuality into it. We were disappointed and disgusted. As they say, "ONE AND DONE." I will be very surprised if it makes it thru the first season, much less another one. Frankly, I hope it's done in a few episodes. Try making something worth watching for a change.
