ZERO (3/5)
The movie released on 21/12/2018 and I watched it 5 days after it released. I was very very much hyped for the movie, so as other people. But when the reviews came out, it turned out to be no lesser than a shock to me. The movie was called "poor", "disaster" and what not. So I had to watch it to see what was wrong. And today I did.
In 95â„… of the reviews, the critics and the audiences alike, claimed that the first half was better than the second half. That the latter half was bizarre. That it was unbearable.
Well I watched the movie and I agree that the movie had dull moments, the storyline was incoherent, the characters were not given justice after the brilliant start they were given. I totally agre. And that was what let the movie down somehow. But, it wasn't bizarre. Dreamy? Yes. And that's not bad.
And I'm not saying that it was the greatest movie ever. It isn't even the best of this year or the best of anyone who was a part of the movie. Also, keep in mind that it wasn't bad at all.
The critics are going too harsh on the movie. Well just because it is a big starrer film, it HAS TO BE a Dangal or Chake De, right? I don't think so.
This movie is ambitious. Something you might have never seen any other Hindi cinema actor try. Despite it's half-cooked writing, the movie is still believable. It takes a big leap in terms of imagination for aspiring writers, me being one of them. It says we're allowed to think big. That we should think out of the small town or foreign-based rom-coms that have been made for the past two decades in majority.
If you are here wondering you should watch the movie or not, don't listen to the critics, or even me. Watch the movie and then think if it was worth a watch. I had a smile on my face when the movie ended. I hope you'll have one too.
