This cinematic treasure conveys roughness, tenderness, frustration, empathy, vulnerablity, comradary, fear, failure, triumph... elements evident in our alone-together times. Women in this era must have had exceptional bravery to enter a "man's" sport. Penny Marshall's intrinsic genius shows much of life's complexity with compassion and humor.
