The story of Christopher Brooks is so beautifully expressed and my heart aches. The painful stories and struggles are unimaginable.
To be able to tell these stories with an honesty and humbleness is hard to achieve. I feel Christopher's stories would be extremely relatable to those children currently in foster care and adults who have gone through the foster care system who need to know they are not alone. In addition, it is a hopeful start to provide help in navigating the challenges people face which are so unique to those being in foster care. The confusing feelings of loneliness, anger, abandonment and unimaginable suffering, brings the sad truth of foster care system. Christopher offers the in depth truth that is devastating but relatable. "My Life With 40 Parents", is an extremely important work that is crucial to children, parents, foster parents and their families, CASA's, GAL's, judges, social workers, teachers and school nurses.
To gain the perspective that Christoper has, brings relief, hope and grace.
Christopher, thank you for giving a gift in sharing your remarkable journey.
