My son went with a bunch of friends extremely excited and came home really sad. He said "it was so bad mom. It lacked a plot and direction and just so sad. They didn't even pay a tribute at the end to Michael's dad? Why wouldn't they have done that?" So my husband and I said it couldnt have been that bad?? So we watched it. We turned it off in 30 mins as it was actually painfully boring!! We finished it the next day. It was so bad and so boring! What a snooze fest zzzzzzzz. I wasn't on the edge of my seat once. Not worried for a character once. We actually laughed quite a bit at how predictable some parts were and how other scenes made no sense. We didn't know who was who, who was just killed? What's going on? It was all over place. I felt like I was watching an SNL version. One character looking at another character through a hole we burst out laughing. What's going on there? Oh my gosh who cares it's all too much to watch. They made a reference to American Gangster how sad to connect and drag another great movie through this. The drug dealers were not believable and boring. So much bad acting, the beach scene looked like they were on a fake set. A car scene in a convertible we were laughing again as the actress' scarves were not blowing around. I'd give one star but both actors playing Tony did such a wonderful job, the gal who played Tony's mom did a good job as well along with some of the younger kids too. So sad to see glimpses of what it could've been and should've been. The snowy street scene where Tony's walking away gave that feeling there it is! However, back to the nonsense following. If you've never seen the sopranos please don't watch this as an entry point. I'm with another reviewer, it would've been better off to have not made this at all. Thank god we canceled HBO.
