Good actors, of course, I had trouble seeing them act as so many dark scenes with no lighting. I thought dialog a bit slow, pat. I didn't love this film. Gut wrenching.

The best writing and acting on a crime solving show on TV. I'm a big Sherlock fan and loved the unique way he is portrayed here. Eccentric and funny, smart ass and tender, kind. Lucy Liu is fantastic as Watson! Her soft, intelligent voice is very compelling. (Her wardrobe!) The plots are complex and interesting. I've learned a lot about many subjects watching. Completely entertaining. I'm glad there are 7 sessons.

I know a good deal about this subject and I felt it was handled with sensitivity and grace in this well executed, true story film. The acting was superb all around. I watched it during a bout of insomnia and it really drew me in. Set in So. Africa, Paris and London, the stock market to the beach and a seedy old gas station, it was visually interesting as well. An extremely powerful film, enhanced to the maximum by Daniel Day Lewis' outstanding performance. The father and Emma Thompson were extraordinary as well. But Daniel should have won the Oscar for this film over Tom Hanks in Philadelphia. Not sure why he didn't. Something funny. His performance is so powerful I've never seen anything near it. He is the best actor of all time. A film we need to learn and change from. Justice systems all over the world are corrupt. The attorney's diligence saved them this time. We can be better.

I agree with the post that was mesmerized by him and the film, but wished they would have used his real name. I didn't know for sure until the end that it was about Bocelli. Inspiring story of his climb to success and well deserved fame. Bravo!

Superb performance by Kidman. Film was a bit drawn out. But it showed the bravado of Hemingway and bravery of Gellhorn in such a tragic time for Spain. Some of how such a war is. How people are. I found it interesting and would have watched just for Kidman's performance.

I watched this little film several times and enjoyed it immensely. The forward says it's a fairytale based on a true story.. But it really is a charming film with a light ambiance and scenes of French country life. It made me laugh and almost cry at times and finishes nicely. I enjoyed all the actors, especially the leads. The man playing a genius-savant or autism scale is perfect. Sweet as can be. ❤

Outstanding! I see why it was nominated for an Oscar for cinematography. I wasn't up to speed on Chile's history, I am now, but enjoyed this departure from meat grinder American pap we get so much of. It is dark, funny, artful and tongue in cheek. Very enjoyable; a nice change of pace.

I found this to be a lyrical film. Fun to learn the narration was freeform by the young girl. It was beautifully filmed and scored. Sam Shepard was wonderful as usual, and Gere didn't ruin it. It was an interesting story taking one back in time. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
