This is my very first book from Japanese literature. I loved it. This book has helped me get out of my reading block. The story was also interesting where it talks about life, death, love, depression, suicide and so on. One line which stuck with me even after reading it was "death exists, not as the end of life, but as part of it". Through Watanabe, Murakami portrays the emotional difficulties one has to go through after losing a loved one. Watanabe choosing life over death in the end is the biggest message this novel is providing, that no matter what happens, you have to move on. It is absolutely worth of reading this masterpiece. Can't wait to explore more of Murakami's works.
