This was the first English-language film of the lovely German actress, Suzanne Roquette, who stayed in England, and made her life in the UK. It was nice to see her in a role where she really had something to do. In the Space 1999 TV series, she was just eye candy. There are some obvious flaws that have been pointed out by others. When lovely Suzanne is tortured by having her back branded, the mark left is much bigger than the branding iron would leave. However, the plot is interesting, original, at least to my knowledge, and plausible as things go in this genre. The words for the songs written for the film came from the great Oscar winning lyricist Don Black. It has much higher production values than I expected from a Fu Manchu film.
