A fine film by some of the great actors. A reflection on the Vietnam War and the courage of the Air Force PJ. For those of you who have seen the film and for those of you who have not. The question may arise- Why was an Air Force Huey attempting a rescue in lieu of US Army Dush Off Air Med Evac helicopters. Because Army Huey at that time did not have the lift cable. the air Force used them for deep penetration for Air Force pilot who bailed out over the jungle. The Army would normally cut trees or blow the trees to provide an LZ fort on the ground pickup..which would of been much safer and according to doctrine. But, that was then. Compelling and heart felt film about a families loss many years ago. But, I would wish to reinforce nearly 7,000 chaplain visits to those who served, but who did not make it home since 9/11.
