Just got done watching one of the most hyped movies released this year in the Cineplex. It was an enjoyable theatre experience indeed. However, I have mixed reactions to this movie, to be honest. Let's begin with what left me feeling perplexed. The actions were breathtaking, and the stunts by the greatest Tom Cruise himself were top-notch. Additionally, the subtle humor kept me engaged throughout the movie.
Now, let's discuss what could have been better in the movie. Having recently watched all the Mission Impossible movies, I had high expectations for this one. Unfortunately, the plot felt very generic. The introduction of Ilsa in this movie raised some questions, as her hiding in the desert and passively waiting for Hunt remained unclear. Moreover, the disappearance of two keys from the ocean after the Sub Explosion needed to be explained. Another odd thing was how Paris managed to chase them with an almost untouchable police vehicle, and the police failed to capture her even when she was almost ambushed.
Last but not least, some scenes could have been more balanced, and the overall predictability of the movie was a letdown. The movie fell short in showcasing the true power and capabilities of the AI entity, given how powerful it was narrated throughout the movie. Apart from the thrilling stunt sequences, there wasn't much to keep me on the edge of my seat. The character of Grace felt childish for a significant portion of the film, and the conversations were often long and dull. As a fan of this franchise, it could have been more pleasant, considering this movie's potential. Hoping for the best for part 2.
