J.J. Abrams saw Endgame's soaring critical praise and thought it was a good idea to copy the plot structure and cookie-cutter it to Star Wars, leaving in the loose strips of uncooked dough. While the story is developed well, it doesn't feel like the last installment to a franchise over 40 years in the making. Carrie Fisher's presence was not well carried by the usage of old footage, having her say out of place wisdom bits in random times for cheap sentimental effect.
I wish the story would continue for just one more movie, because this is just not what the fans deserved.
