Good idea, badly done. The good idea was to copy Rashomon: the same story told three times by different narrators. But then they screw up. The opportunity to show different perspectives gets completely lost: scenes are literally, exactly repeated. If only someone like, say, the producer, had told them the script had gone off the rails. Hang on: the producers also wrote the script. And then they starred in it. No-one told them how bad it was.
Learn this, girls. If something bad happens to you: the only way to win your cause is to have a big man on your side, and get him to beat hell out of the other big man. It’s the only answer.
I’ve always disliked the Hollywood story arc in which all conflicts are resolved by a big fight. It strikes me as having the emotional maturity of a boy aged 14. I suppose when something is called The Last Duel, it’s a clue.
