Great show with terrific actors. Michael Douglas, Alan Arkin, Paul Reiser, Jane Seymour, Morgan Freeman (Season 3), Kathleen Turner (Season 3) and more. It's funny and honest look at an aging struggling actor with a wealthy manager best friend who both face the reality that getting older sucks, adult kids can be ridiculously dysfunctional, and if you don't give up, they can still be relevant, contribute and dream. The irony that Michael Douglas is a "failed" actor who teaches acting is most often believable, but sometimes you stop suspending disbelief about this which makes watching even more interesting. But the humor is on the money. The frustration and anger at having your body betray you and your friends passing is honest but does not make the show depressing. The show strikes a great balance between the bad and good. Season 3 is great, but gives it a traditional Hollywood fantasy arc to counter the potentially depressing losses, medical issues, and exaggerated personalities/lives of several characters. It's a great show and all three seasons are binge worthy.
