8/10 Solid game.
It adds some unique features to the RPG genre, specifically the guiding wind mechanic, and the cinematography at times is top notch, the game honours the historic Japanese culture well I feel. The combat and the main story were decent, I feel it carries the game overall for me along with the main side missions and the exploration activities. This game contains some very powerful and moving moments as well. I will say though after doing side missions and finding shrines/fox dens/hot springs for like the first 10 hours or so, it got rather repetitive and to the point I wasn't enjoying the game as much, the story missions got me back to enjoying it. Another issue I had was pacing at times, particularly after completing a mission, you'd be forced to watch your level go up and see what rewards you've gotten before you're able to play again, same with saving a village, be forced to go through 2/3 shots of the village at peace. Also you're not able to skip cutscenes for those dull moments, that occurs more often for side missions. It was frustrating after a while. Also on hard difficulty, the combat is really easy in my opinion. It was very similar to Days Gone in terms of polish for a Playstation Exclusive, though I enjoyed the side activities in that game much more than this one. Regardless, another win for Sony fans I'd say.
